Cara Colombini Landscape Architecture is a full service landscape design firm offering site planning, concept design, construction drawing, City submittals, project management & construction administration. Cara is a licensed Landscape Architect, and principal designer.
Step 1: Define the Scope of Work
The design process begins with a meeting on site to discuss the client's 'wish list' for their landscape. From there, we develop a program, or list of landscape elements, that will inform us during the design process. A site analysis is also performed to determine the opportunities and constraints of the site that are relevant to the design intent.
Step 2: Conceptual Layout / Schematic Design
Next, an overall landscape site plan is developed showing a proposed layout of program elements. Drawings, such as colored plans & 3D renderings, as well as photo images, are presented to describe the design concept.
Step 3: Design Development & Construction Documents
Once a conceptual layout has been decided on, the details of the design are further developed and refined, and production of the Construction Document, or 'CD' package begins. The CD package will be the final set of plans used for bidding & installation.
Step 4: Installation
The final step...contractors are selected and installation begins! Cara Colombini Landscape Design will assist the client during the bidding process, and once construction begins, will coordinate with the contractor on schedule, budget, material procurement, etc. We will also be available on site to assist with any design related issues.
